A per-user payment model is one of the most widely used digital subscription models. For consumers, and increasingly for business-to-business software. However, many users share their accounts, avoiding subscription fees and putting suppliers at a disadvantage.
Detect deviations
Our AI/ML algorithms are able to detect shared account abuse with very high reliability. This is done in real time with the available data from a login session. This detection can alert users to the usage conditions and take action such as enabling forced 2-factor authentication.
We also provide user-friendly case reports to the customer support department for manual evaluation.
CodeNext21 identified the 1% of users who illegally shared their accounts.
Results
We found that – on average – 3 out of 1000 accounts had some degree of account sharing.
